BTS considers platform screens at all stations after Mo Chit fall

Like the old saying goes: Fall on the tracks once, shame on you. Fall on the tracks twice, shame on me.

The Bangkok Mass Rapid Transit System is considering installing those fancy new advertisement doors ‒ which they say also function as safety devices ‒ at all BTS Skytrain stations after a woman fell onto the tracks at BTS Mo Chit yesterday.

The woman, Channel 3 news anchor Warunrat Kalphan, fainted and collapsed on the tracks during her morning commute. BTS Mo Chit is one of the stations without the doors, according to an executive with the Bangkok Mass Transit System Public Co. Ltd.

They had yet to be installed at Mo Chit in particular because of a coming extension overhaul at the station, said the company’s Anat Arbhabhirama.
