Get home delivery of organic rice from your own farmer

A new nonprofit program wants to bring organic rice from the fields direct to your doorstep. Literally.

Responding to the organic food trend, the pook pin to kao (wed through rice) program was created to enable organic rice farmers ship their rice direct to customers.

The sole purpose of this program is to pair urban buyers with rural sellers without a middleman. The rice can cost as low as THB50 per kilogram. This also allows consumers and producers to communicate directly through letters or instant messaging such as Line.

Customers can also visit the farmers and watch their rice grow, for that full-circle experience.

Buyers can sign up for three types of delivery plans: a single option, business option, or team option, depending on how much rice they’d like to receive monthly, starting as low as one kilogram per month.

You can also choose between brown and white rice and specify the quality you expect. Buyers who are willing to pay more for the highest quality organic rice would be paired with more experienced organic farmers. Or help farmers convert to organic operations by expecting lower quality rice from new farms. The latter choice would definitely appeal to environmentally conscious customers.

Interested buyers can look for more information or sign up at their Facebook page (Thai).
