The doctor behind an in vitro fertilization clinic raided and shut down by police for offering commercial surrogacy services turned himself in late last night.
Pisit Tantiwattanakul, owner of the All IVF clinic known as the “baby factory” linked to a Japanese businessman, denied all charges after showing up for questioning nearly a month after police asked him to appear.
Although Pisit faces charges he was responsible for the illegal operation of his clinic, he was released without arrest, Bangkok Post reported.
Pisit told the media that his intentions were good and refuted assertions from authorities that he did not have relevant qualifications.
His lawyer said Pisit would prove all of this with documents he would give to police – later.
