Another young tourist, this time from Denmark, said she was raped over the weekend by a man posing as a taxi driver in Pattaya.
Police are looking for the man described by the 23-year-old woman who sought help Saturday after she was raped in the early evening after visiting a plot of land near Jomtien Beach.
The woman said she’d traveled to look at the land as her relatives are doing business in Pattaya. At around 6pm she was looking for a ride back to her room when a man on a motorbike approached, claiming he was a taxi driver and offering her a ride.
Instead, he took her an isolated cassava farm and raped her.
The suspect is described as between 25 and 30. The police investigated the crime scene and recovered strands of hair and fibers of clothing. A sketch of the suspect was drawn and the police are looking to make an arrest.
The family of the victim has offered a THB50,000 reward for anyone with information leading to the suspect’s arrest, Morning News reported.
