Space, space, space space: Outer space invades Lat Phrao

Space is pretty sweet, isn’t it? The word alone inspires dreams about all that final frontier stuff like planets and stars and moondust and robots and sexy murder aliens.

Would you like to see a space rocket? How about a space suit or space car? Would some space robots, bathrooms or other space tech register a space-blip on your space-interest meter?

Future super-scientists can check out more than 400 pieces of space tech, an interactive ride and more December through January at the Bangkok Convention Centre’s “NASA Space Exhibition.”

“Visitors will have the chance to marvel at an amazing range of NASA spacecraft, starting from Mercury and Gemini to Apollo and the Space Shuttle,” reads a release from the Tourism Authority of Thailand. “Russian space technology will also be on display including replicas of the Sputnik satellite and lunar survey rover Lunokhod.”

A replica of moon lander Neil Armstrong’s space suit, two Titan 1 engine rockets and scale models of a Saturn V, the Apollo cockpit module and more will be show.

The “space ride zone” will include a G-force simulator and interactive displays about the solar system. Visitors can also take some space selfies inside space suits.
