Wondrous winter: Sea of fog tops Northern mountains

It’s time to stock up on completely unnecessary but cute pet sweaters as winter has arrived – at least in the mountainous north.

A sea of fog enveloping Phu Kradueng mountain in Loei province is considered a sign of winter’s arrival, and travelers have started visiting to check out its popular views, breathe in the cold air and watch the sun rise in a chilly 15C, according to Morning News.

The famous national park only reopened last week after being closed eight months for forest rehabilitation.

The park will be open through May, but access will be limited to 5,000 people per day. Meanwhile plans to completely spoil what vestige of nature remains by building a cable car to the peak continue.

Meanwhile, closer to earth, Loei is battling 22C with Chiang Mai and Chiang Rai at 27C. That’s perfect air-con weather right there so consider holding off on that adorable kitten costume.

As for Bangkok, we seem to be stuck in rainy mode for at least another week. Scattered thunder showers are expected every day throughout the week with temperatures averaging 30C.
