Brace for -15C at Bangkok ‘ice wonderland’

Get a head start on winter without trekking to Dream World’s Snow Town or slumming in one of those grimy ice bars.

Bangkok’s new place for subzero thrills and fake snow fun is Harbin Ice Wonderland which recently opened on lower Sukhumvit Road.

Only a few steps from the BTS Bearing Station, the park’s highlights are an icy slide and icy landmarks of the world such as Icy Big Ben, Icy Eiffel Tower and, more locally, Icy Grand Palace. Inside it’s -15C, all the time.

Entry is THB350, THB250 for children below 120 centimeters, THB300 for seniors and non-Thais get to pay THB550. No idea what foreign children pay.

Get a 10 percent discount by booking online. You can stay as long as your body allows. Bring your own winter clothes or rent warm stuff for THB140.
