And again this year, vendors are being asked only to sell krathong made of natural materials, while celebrants should avoid buying any made of styrofoam.

The full list of parks include popular sites such as Lumpini Park, Wachira Benchathat Park (Suan Rot Fai), Benchasiri Park (next to BTS Phrom Phong), Benjakitti Park and Santi Chaiprakan Park at Phra Arthit.

This year the Bangkok Metropolitan Administration has banned selling and launching sky lanterns near “tall buildings, historic sites, palaces, major temples and airports” on the holiday, according to Thai PBS.

Fireworks will also be banned from sites where festivities will be hosted by the city, including all public parks in the capital and near the Rama VIII Bridge.
