Train and 10-wheeler collide, 4 die

A train rammed a 10-wheeler truck in Khon Kaen province this morning causing four deaths and 20 injuries.

The train engineer, a staff member and two passengers reportedly died in the accident which happened at 11am today after the truck abruptly lurched onto the tracks in front of the train.

The train was traveling from from Nakhon Ratchasima to Nong Khai province. There was no railway signal, partition or other safety equipment at the crossover where the accident occurred, according to investigators.

This is the second train collision this week after a Toyota Camry cut in front of a Bangkok-Hua Hin train on Monday, killing both passengers in the car, Kapook reported.
