Police seek farang suspect in brutal murder of Nana Plaza sex worker

A suitcase filled with animal parts and a dismembered woman was pulled from a river in Kanchanaburi province earlier this month, and investigators have followed its trail back to Soi Sukhumvit 4, aka Soi Nana.

Days after the discovery on Nov. 9, police identified the remains as from a Soi Nana sex worker from who was reported missing by her family in Si Saket province days after the remains were found.

Police are seeking a person of interest seen in security footage at Nana Plaza with the woman, identified only as “Pook.”

In the footage, a muscular white male is seen walking with the 31-year-old victim through the red-light mall of sex on Nov. 1.

Police said the two subsequently hired a taxi to take them to Kanchanaburi, according to a sexpat blog which has drawn attention to the case.

Contacted on Thursday, police said they had no suspects identified and no update on the case.

Although rumors abound of awful crime in Bangkok’s infamous sex districts, they seem to be black holes for information. Rarely are reports of crime from the heavily touristed such as Soi Nana or Patpong found in the press.
