Horde of Thai school elves swarm Paragon to break Guinness record

Nearly 2,000 Thai school children strapped on pointy ears to break a Guinness World Record on Tuesday for the most Christmas elves in one place.

Crowding into the events space next to Siam Paragon, 1,776 students stood for five minutes to have the record certified, stealing it from 1,100 UK school children who set it in 2013.

“The record before today stood at 1,110,” said Guiness representative Richard Stenning. “Today they smashed it by getting 1,762, so it’s a Guinness World Record achievement today.”

Fourteen students were disqualified for failing to wear their ears.
