No better place than Bangkok to celebrate New Year’s, Agoda poll finds

Martial law, tourist shake-downs and earlier closing times haven’t diminished Bangkok’s appeal as the best place to ring in 2015.

The Thai capital ranked the No. 1 destination of choice among 24 cities worldwide in a poll by Agoda.com asking more than 7,000 of its users where they’d most like to celebrate the New Year.

Bangkok took the top spot with 13.6 percent of those polled, followed by Hong Kong (10.77 percent) Bali (10.62 percent), Tokyo (9.45 percent) and Singapore (7.97 percent).
