Swede leaps to death from lower Sukhumvit condo

A Swedish man lept to his death from a condominium on Soi Sukhumvit 13 early this morning, police said.

A disturbed 24-year-old Swedish man jumped from the 13th floor of a friend’s condominium over issues with his family, police believe.

Friends had reportedly been seeking the deceased after he complained online about his family coming to Thailand for him. An English friend of his located the man on Khao Sarn Road and brought him to stay at his condo on lower Sukhumvit Road.

The friend said he was very agitated about his family trying to force his return to Sweden before he jumped, Thai PBS reports. His name is being withheld because it’s unclear whether his family has been notified yet.

Police investigators said they responded to a call just before 3am and found no sign of struggle in the room.

The body was sent to Police General Hospital for an autopsy.
