Group in Bangkok pays respect to Charlie Hebdo victims

A group of people gathered at a vigil in front of the Bangkok Art and Cultural Center yesterday evening to pay their respects to those killed in the attack on the office of the satirical magazine Charlie Hebdo.

Two masked gunmen broke into the magazine’s office in Paris on Wednesday and opened fire on journalists and cartoonists who were gathered for an editorial meeting, killing twelve people, including two police officers.

The group lit candles and placed flowers around signs printed with the words “Je Suis Charlie” and other phrases that signify solidarity to the magazine.

Chiranuch Premchaiporn, a journalist at Prachatai helped to organize the vigil, Khaosod English reported.
