Making some noise: Shop new things for ears, eyes, stomach at music minifest (UPDATED)

UPDATED: Full schedule below.

It will be a sweet Valentine for lovers of the new sounds of Bangkok.

The fourth installment of original music-culture-crafting fest Noise Market will return to the lush grounds of Museum Siam for two days next month. It will be the best opportunity to hear local independent, noncommercial music for awhile, as the event’s organizers will not stage the Stone Free festival this year.

Noise Market is a place “to meet and support indie art, craft, music, book, films … where children can run, family can sit back, artist can draw, reader can think, musician can rock, experimentalist can test” and so on, according to the announcement.

The “outdoor cinema” aspect will feature a discussion with music video director Kai Nattapon on Saturday. A short film “Madam Anna Nipple Macaron Ponyangkam and primary education” by Ratpoom Boonbanchachoke will screen Sunday. Who could say no to that?

Best of all the whole thing is free.
