To promote the kingdom as a location for filmmakers, Thailand will sponsor filmmakers coming to create short films for a festival.
The Thailand International Film Destination Festival will feature a contest challenging more than 100 international filmmakers to create short movies here and compete for a THB1.2 million prize. The program will also pair artists from nations with developed and young film industries to promote an international filmmaking community.
Screenings of Hollywood productions and independent creations will show at the Paragon Cineplex from Feb. 7 through 11. The schedule is not yet available.
Also a workshop will be offered for location managers looking to learn about the implications of working internationally.
Finally an awards ceremony will be held recognize both local and international members of the cinema community.
