Police rescue woman locked up and tortured by boyfriend

Police rescued a woman from her home where she had been held and assaulted by her boyfriend in Ang Thong province.

Police said they found Thikamporn Prayongnoi, 29, locked inside her own house by her drug-addicted boyfriend Saturday morning after she posted a message to a Facebook group intended to help readers avoid police checkpoints.

Thikanporn told police her 39-year-old boyfriend, Supamit Ratanathaworn, had beaten her with a hanger and choked her out of jealousy. He had kept her locked inside the home since the night before.

Thikamporn then posted a message seeking help on “Tell me Ang Thong has a Checkpoint,” whose admin alerted authorities. Thikanporn said she could not risk calling the police herself, as the boyfriend might hear.

Police charged the boyfriend with abduction and drug use, Matichon reported.
