Red Shirt leader Jatuporn Promphan was sentenced today to two years in prison for defaming the Democrat Party chief Abhisit Vejjajiva.
The Criminal Court found the head of the United Front for Democracy against Dictatorship guilty for comments he made about Abhisit, who was serving as prime minster at the time, during an address to anti-government protesters on Oct. 11, 2009, at the Democracy Monument.
Jatuporn’s lawyer said they are considering whether to appeal, according to Thai PBS.
