Coilus Interruptus: Monster love-in scares rubber farmers

Nakhon Sri Thammarat rescue volunteers yesterday responded to a call for help from a married couple who said they were freaked by two huge pythons curled up together in their rubber plantation.

Sumit Petchkaew, 40, told the volunteers he and his wife panicked when they spotted the two pythons, believed to be a couple, under their rubber tree while working yesterday.

As volunteers arrived, the bigger snake had escaped, leaving the smaller one to be caught.

Smaller being relative: The snake stretched out to seven meters and weighed over 80 kilograms.

Sumit said he expects the other snake to return for her boyfriend, and he vowed not to return to work until the bigger python is caught, Morning News reported.
