A love-spurned man leaped to his death from Major Ratchayothin in the capital’s Chatuchak district last night.
Identified only as a 29-year-old Thai-Malaysian named Joel, the man committed suicide soon after meeting with his estranged girlfriend to reconcile after having cheated on her, according to police.
He showed up drunk to their meeting at a Starbucks inside the mall, and the girlfriend soon left, according to Bangkok Post.
Just before 10pm, Joel followed the woman to her vehicle parked on the sixth floor and threatened to kill himself.
She reportedly ignored him, police said, so Joel jumped.
