11 injured, others missing in factory explosion

Rescue workers are attempting to find missing workers after at least 11 were injured by an explosion this afternoon inside an animal food plant outside of Bangkok.

A malfunctioning compressor was blamed for a large explosion hit the fourth floor of the factory owned by Laemthong Sahakarn Co. Ltd. in Samut Prakan, which caused extensive damage and at least 11 injuries.

Officials believe there are still workers trapped inside the building.

Three workers were seriously injured in the blast and have been taken to Bangpakok Hospital, Sanook reported.
