Instakitchen Bangkok E9: Mr. R Boiled Rice’s Super (Spicy) Soup

There’s something about sipping on hot broth that’s so comforting, especially when you’re sitting in the adrenaline mine that is Bangkok City. If you’re looking to fire up your soup game, there’s one place you should go: the Mr. R Boiled Rice street stall.

Started by Songchai Wansongchawatboon in the wake of the late ’90s recession, the stall serves a selection of dishes, but the most popular one is their spicy chicken feet soup, or Super Soup as it’s fondly called.

It’s simply chicken feet and wings boiled in Songchai’s homemade broth and mixed with a concoction of bird’s eye chillies, fish sauce, lime juice and sugar.

But the taste is an adventure.
