Growth expectations to be downgraded in lieu of recovery

Economic malaise may force a downward revision of Thailand’s 2015 growth projection.

A government economic commission could lower its expectations as early as next month in lieu of recovery indicators, according to Supan Mongkolsuthee, president of the Federation of Thai Industries said yesterday.

Despite poor performance in exports, the economy otherwise has performed better this past quarter than that proceeding it.

GDP growth of 3.5 percent had been earlier augured by the Joint Standing Commission on Commerce, Industry and Banking, with 2 percent to 2.5 percent expected in export expansion, according to Thai PBS.
