“Where’s my Fast & Furious?”
The Facebook page “Thais want to watch Fast & Furious 7” has earned almost 20,000 likes in a matter of hours in response to a court blocking the release of the newest furious movie in Thailand.
A court ruling yesterday has imposed a temporary ban on the movie in Thailand over a lawsuit filed by Sahamongkol Film against Panom “Tony Jaa” Yeerum and Universal Pictures for breach of contract. Although Tony brought in big box office money for Sahamongkol through films such as the “Ong Bak” series, the studio says he broke their contract by accepting the role from Universal.
And Thais are pissed off.
“This page was founded to request them to show Fast & Furious 7! I want Thais to work together #Pleaseshare. Don’t let the dispute between two people make the whole country suffer for not seeing the movie they love,” the page wrote today.
Many netizens post photos of their advanced tickets and expressed their disappointment.
