Nerd alert! 4 places in Bangkok to get your geek on

It’s hip to be square. Indeed nerd culture is swinging back into vogue in Bangkok and around the world.

Computer science graduates are highly paid and coveted and being good at math is cool too.

Suspenders and rimmed glasses are even making comebacks in the fashion world.

With that being said, we’re going to highlight the four nerdiest places around Bangkok for those urgently looking to boost their geek cred.

So strap on those velcro shoes, put some pens in your shirt pocket, and and pay these places a visit!

The Nielson Hayes Library and Galleries

Ah, the ever-so-quiet library. A place of quiet reflection, intense study, and unparalleled knowledge building.

Nielson Hayes houses the largest collection of English-language books in Bangkok in a gorgeous Neo-classical domed building constructed in 1922.

This is the perfect place to catch up on the classics, while escaping the heat and hustle of Bangkok.

Neolution eSport Stadium

What’s more nerdy than “p0wning” a “n00b” in a video game? Nothing.

Game center Neolution eSport Stadium – supposedly the biggest in Thailand and 5th biggest in Asia –  has more than 750 PCs with high-speed internet ready for Bangkok “electronic sports athletes,”’ aka gaming nerds.

Its 2 stories are filled with personal stations as well as team stations where gaming enthusiasts can brainstorm and come up with a best plan to win over their competitors. Beds are also available for those too exhausted from fighting in the virtual battleground.

Museum Siam

This museum is the perfect hang out for a special sub-variety of nerds called “history and culture enthusiasts.”

Museum Siam boasts super cool interactive storytelling, multimedia display, and physical installations on the history of Thailand and Southeast Asia.

Temporary exhibitions are frequently held on a variety of topics, ranging from cuisine culture to new technology innovation in the Kingdom.

Visitors can enjoy cultural activities, art markets, workshops, movie screenings and seminars on an occasional basis too.

Oh yea, and they’re celebrating their 7th anniversary by letting guests in free tomorrow, April 2!

Battlefield Bangkok

Using your superior brain-power to vanquish adversaries doesn’t always have to occur in the digital realm.

At Battlefield Bangkok you can do it the old fashioned with way… with table-top role playing games!

Hidden on the second floor of Golden Pearl Residence on Sukhumvit 101/1, this epic gaming shop has been the site of countless unforgettable battles.

Whether you are a casual newbie or a hardened veteran, Battlefield Bangkok is the perfect place to delve into the world of miniature war games.
