Hot Damn: Bangkok to suffer warmest day in 55 years

Officials might want to extend Songkran because the hottest day in six decades is forecast to blast us in the face just after we put down our water guns.

Bangkok will suffer its hottest day in 55 years on April 27 during that unique annual phenomenon when the Thai capital detaches from the surface of the earth and moves into close solar orbit. An extremely searing 41C is predicted for that day, making for a more miserable than normal Monday, according to the Thai Meteorological Department.

Today proved less awfully warm than expected with an expected afternoon high of 36C, with a small break expected as temperatures drop a few degrees tomorrow, as some thunderstorms move in through the weekend. But seriously, 41C?

During Songkran temperatures in the capital are expected to sit at 37C-38C, making for perfect water warfare conditions, Morning News reported.
