Total Koki Aki: Jap expat’s thirst for taxi vengeance takes down two more drivers

Three months after his public shaming of airport taxi drivers went viral, Koki Aki has stormed again, leaving two taxi drivers in his wake.

Suvarnabhumi Airport officials banned two more taxi drivers yesterday for not using the meter after the Japanese expat wrote about an incident on Facebook.

Panomyong Kaewamat and Nirut Posri were banned after they confessed to overcharging Koki Aki and 10 of his friends, according to Dalat Assawet, deputy director of the airport.

Koki Aki, who became famous among Thai netizens in January for shaming Suvarnabhumi Airport in Thai, discussed the incident on Facebook yesterday after he was overcharged.

The Japanese expat claimed he took two taxis with 10 of his friends, who like him do charity work for children in Thailand. They were charged flat rates of THB600 and THB750, excluding toll charges.

Aki didn’t hold back.

“I have discussed this issue once in January but nothing has changed,” he wrote. “The organization responsible for taxi drivers and the airport staff should know Suvarnabhumi taxis and some employees are the disgrace of Thailand.”

The taxi drivers said they requested a flat rate from the customers because they had a mountain of luggage between them, Manager reported.
