Government pharmacists prep cheap baldness pills

Taking action on the national crisis of baldness, government pharmacists will introduce a treatment to the market for as little as THB10.

According to the Government Pharmaceutical Organization, it will bring to the market “GPO-Finax 1,” a treatment based on Finasteride, which is commonly used to treat another male malady: the enlarged prostate. It’s also used for transsexual hormone therapy and apparently encourages hair growth as the active ingredient in treatments such as Propecia.

“This pill is another hope of bald people,” organization Director Nopporn Cheunklim said. “We’re producing and packaging the pills. They are expected to sold within this year.”

Nopporn said dudes losing their hair should take a 1-milligram dose per day, but be mindful of their blood pressure and seek advice from their doctor if they suffer high blood pressure.

The treatment costs THB10 per pill and comes in 30 tablets per box. They will be sold at local pharmacies, Manager reported.
