A group of Chinese tourists were enjoying plates of som tam restaurant in Lat Phrao when they realized one of their friends was missing.
After some frantic phone calls and searching her companion was eventually discovered out back washing dishes for fun.
“Joy,” the owner of Ruen Roi Et restaurant on Soi Lat Phrao 130, told of how she had to walk around her busy restaurant searching for the missing tourist after her friends couldn’t find her.
She checked the bathroom while the woman’s friends called back to the hotel room, where no one answered the phone.
Finally, Joy noticed an unfamiliar woman in a pink shirt washing dishes.
The tourist said she saw the employees washing dishes out back and wanted to help out.
It’s what she always does in China, she said, and she wanted to show Chinese hospitality.
Thai netizens tipped their inter-hats to the Chinese on this one, suggesting she deserves some free somtam.
