Masters of the Interverse: Facebook Thailand is hiring

Facebook, aka the last thing Thailand sees when it goes to bed and the first when it wakes up, is looking for its Thai Mark Zuckerberg.

The Menlo Park, Calif.-based firm is looking for someone in Bangkok to become “Head of Thailand” to be the company’s architect of business strategy for the country and be the target of angry tweets from Thais when the site is down instead of Zuckerberg.

You don’t have to be a Thai national but must speak fluent Thai and English. Here are the details:

Facebook is seeking a strong, experienced sales and marketing professional to lead Facebook’s advertising solutions sales to large online advertisers. You’ll lead the business efforts and contribute to a high-caliber team in a business that is experiencing rapid and dramatic growth. This role will require a self-starter who has also demonstrated previous solid performance and work in a constantly changing environment, dealing with ambiguity and demonstrate problem-solving leadership capability with limited oversight. Ideal candidates will have experience in a sales environment as well as extensive experience selling cross-network, online marketing solutions such as integrated sponsorships and display advertising.
 

Responsibilities

• Lead the business strategy for the country

• Help define Facebook overall approach and focus for client marketing teams and agencies

• Identify and prioritize business opportunities

• Partner with other cross-functional teams on structuring and executing operational and strategic initiatives – developing work plans, synthesizing market related data, leading analysis and defining the overall business approach to Facebook’s success

• Increase the effectiveness of the team by recognizing opportunities for new approaches

• Develop and implement best practices for client interaction, sales and services for Facebook, including a good understanding of working with advertisers and agencies

• Develop metrics to measure the growth and performance of the sales team, and provide reports as needed

• Create persuasive sales presentations using market trends, case studies and Facebook network solutions

• Analyze campaign performance statistics and recommend optimized media solutions

• Exceed sales, pricing and yield goals for yourself and your team

• Ensure that our clients receive the highest level of sales and operational customer service
   

Requirements

• 10+ years of Marketing, Media Sales and/or Online Advertising experience

• 3+ years of management, leadership experience. BA or BS degree or equivalent experience preferred

• Knowledge of social media, agencies and direct response a plus

• Ability to win the support of key stakeholders

• Relationships with top marketing decision makers

• Proven track record of reaching and exceeding sales revenue goals

• Demonstrated success as a leader of change, achieving operational excellence by introducing new performance measures, processes and systems

• Ability to perform well in a highly dynamic, rapidly changing environment

• Understanding of user behavior and how technology works and the ability to explain each in ordinary terms

• Excellent communication and presentation skills

• Great team player

• Passion for Facebook, marketing and social media

• Fluency in English and Thai.
