Ever wonder what it would look like to have a giant rocket fall from the sky and sever your arm?
A bystander who was horribly wounded at the Rocket Festival in Sisaket province seems to have recorded the whole thing on his smartphone.
This astonishing footage taken by an excited cameraman believed to have lost his arm on Sunday shows the festival’s final launch of the day. It begins with a smoky launch as an excited crowd cheers the rocket’s climb. For awhile, just blue sky as they wait to see the parachute open.
“Wooooo! Hell yeah!” is the last thing he’s heard shouting before the rocket suddenly appears in free fall directly above him.
There are no details identifying the man, but it seems consistent with Sunday’s incident in Sisaket in which a falling rocket killed two men and severed the arm of a third.
After the camera goes down, he’s swarmed by people calling for help getting him to a hospital and shouting “I told you so!” Someone picks up his camera phone to film the videographer sans arm, which someone helpfully tries to adjust.
