Survey Says: 41% of Thai office workers hate their jobs

Happy with your job? Four out of 10 officer workers, mostly in Bangkok, say they are not.

Nearly half of office employees out there – 41 percent – said they are unhappy with their jobs, according to a survey by JobsDB, with the top reasons being how their company works, their salaries, and their responsibilities.

The results were based on a survey of 1,452 participants from fields such as administration, business development, human resources, accounting, IT, sales, marketing, and customer service. Of the respondents, 83 percent worked in Bangkok.

Although the majority (58.3 percent) said they were satisfied with their career, most have no plan to stay with their company more than three years. Over a third, or 38 percent, said they’d leave within one year, while another 27 percent are actively seeking another job.

The top sources of job satisfaction, respondents said, were having the right role in their organization, a good relationship with their supervisor and coworkers, and of course, salary.
