Sometimes when you gaze into the abyss of space, the abyss of space smiles and winks at you.

You may be forgiven for thinking the universe approves of you this weekend when Jupiter and Venus align with the crescent moon to make a cute happy face.

For the first time since 2008, the rare astronomical alignment will return Friday through Sunday, appearing in different parts of the night sky each day, according to the National Astronomical Research Institute.

The best night to view the smile in the sky will be Saturday night.

On Friday night, the moon, Venus and Jupiter will line up in the western sky, and on Sunday night the moon will be in a higher position above the planets, according to Thai PBS.
