Whether it’s due to overdosing on their movies and shows or Katy Perry lyrics, America’s Independence Day seems to be a thing – and we don’t judge.
For whatever reason, whether you’re an US expat or just want to join the fun, there are a lot of events celebrating the Fourth of July, from traditional barbecue fun and games to boozey carousing.
There’s even a totally rad riot grrrl rock ‘n roll dance party, and those looking to celebrate queer marriage in the United States with hot guys got a gay pool party to get to.
Here are five different places to wear your red, white and blue and eat your hot dogs too.
1. American Chamber of Commerce Independence Day Picnic
Old Glory’s calling you back home to this American-style picnic party with barbecue, hot dogs, burgers and ribs. Add some more fat to the bone with pie and ice cream then wash it down with craft American beers from many foods and drinks sponsors. Fun family games including an eating contest will be held. If that’s not American enough, there will also be with live music by American rock, blues and folk bands.
Tickets are available at the chamber’s office for THB200 and will be sold for THB300 at the event. It will be held from noon to 8pm at KIS International School on Pracha-Utit Road.
Mikkeller will throw a proper garden party and celebrate Uncle Sam with American brews, barbecue by Chef Dan Bark, four garden beers on tap, two draught cocktails from Mikropolis, but sorry boys, no mention of milkshakes in the yard. The party runs from 2pm at Mikkeller Bangkok.
3. Merica
Can America and its proud culinary tradition of just deep frying things be celebrated without some wings? Sway doesn’t think so. It will celebrate by offering special deals on wings and hosting another cultural high point with a beer pong tourney! The feast runs from 6pm at Sway Urban Eatery.
The diamond-tough and always-fun party crew that is the Go Grrrls are calling out all the children of revolution and rebellious hearts to the dancefloor at Wine Bibber Sangria to celebrate with the baddest, coolest and raddest eras of disco, glam and rock with DJs Maehappyair, Dookie and Cleo P. The party runs from 9:30pm to 2am at Wine Bibber Sangria, and entry is THB200.
Squeeze your heart into some speedos and raise your flag for the greatest of America at the Splash Out Pool Party. They didn’t said they will serve you hot dogs and buns but it might be not too hard to find some imported or made-in-USA meats. The party will be hosted by Pangina Heals with sexy beats by DJs Yui and Dee Iris, with many free shots to juice your bum promised. The party goes from 2pm to 8pm at DoubleTree by Hilton Sukhumvit. Entry is THB300 includes one drink.
