To celebrate their upcoming Independence Day, the US Embassy showed its cruel side by asking its Thai staff to eat lesser-known American “treats” to prove #Murrica is about more than Burger King. And the results are what you’d expect.
In a parody of Buzzfeed-style clickbait videos, the embassy served eight Thais with dishes such as syrup-filled chicken waffles, green bean casserole, “Ants on a Log” and S’Mores. The staffers even had to figure out how to eat the S’Mores.
“So Americans really eat this food?” a middle-aged dude says.
Another questioned the premise that it was fit for consumption.
“Even if I didn’t have anything to eat, I would still have to reconsider this,” a woman jokes.
Others are more circumspect.
“American food is edible, from my experience … just not today!” another dude says.
The video was posted last night to the embassy’s Facebook.
