Terminator Genisys

Once again Arnold makes good on his promise to “be back” but does anyone care anymore? I’m not sure what to expect from this series anymore. The last entry, “Terminator Salvation,” was just torturing to watch, and CGI Arnold didn’t make it any better. Has there been a good Terminator since “Judgment Day?”

I’m going out on a limb to predict one of two possible outcomes here: This movie is going to either really great or really awful. Remakes of huge blockbuster franchises like Terminator are usually a hit or a miss, so I’m going to take my seat with no expectations.

The Trials of Cate McCall

Not sure why this film is coming out so late since it was released about a year ago in other countries.

The film is about a has-been hotshot lawyer, Cate McCall,  who has to defend a woman who claims to be wrongfully convicted of murder. Cate never lost a case in her life and struggles to dig deep in order to find evidence to save her client.

I’m feeling very meh about this film, especially since it’s probably possible to find the DVD on the street.

The Wolfpack

Back in high school, my friends and I would try to make our own comedy skits and short movies. What was the result? Cringe-worthy videos posted to YouTube with little-to-no views. This documentary brings me back to those times, as it focuses on a group of brothers living in New York who had nothing better to do** than recreate the classic films of the past. This documentary sounds pretty interesting as I’d like to see the corny things they came up with.

**Ed. note: The six brothers “had nothing better to do” because they were kept prisoners 14 years inside their Manhattan apartment by their father. Their only knowledge of the world came from watching movies, and they did their own low cost cosplay-style recreations. Oh, Natcha!
