TOO FISHY, the Amerifriends declare of Thai snacks

On the heels of a US Embassy video documenting Thai victims of American “enhanced snacking techniques,” Buzzfeed strikes back with a video of Americans hating on our snacks too.

The latest in a series of Americans reacting to new experiences, such as flavor, the Buzzfeed staffers sample exotic Thai snacks such as crispy fish and squid corn to show the two food cultures will be in conflict, forever.

“It looks like dried skin” Ameridude says of fish chip brand Taro. “They taste like a dry skin,” Dude Two soon confirms.

Excessive fishiness was the most common objection.

This fishy snack should be rewarded in passing taste and sensation.

“It’s like eating an aquarium,” the recovering-drug-addict-looking one declares.

However Mii Grob, or crispy noodles, win some new fans.

Probably because it’s fried and sweet, like a Twinkie at a Texas carnival, and has a familiar Asian-American flavor.

“It tastes like the memory of a Chinese dish,” recovering says.

All-in-all, we hate their snacks, and they hate ours.

But that’s actually a good thing. Some cultural variance in tongues makes for a more delicious world, after all.

“These always take you on a journey, and I never like where we go,” the token chick says in summary of the “Americans try new shit” series.

Given how frequent they crank these out, some Buzzfeeder must be returning from a lot of trips to Thailand with snack-packed luggage.
