Actor admits how he got Maroon 5 tickets ‘unfair’

An actor invited deeper scrutiny over how 25 celeb pals got coveted concert tickets, all seated together, when he held a press conference this morning to not-really explain it.

Denying popular speculation the celebs obtained tickets before they went on sale to vanish in minutes, Siwat “Cee” Chottichaicharin implied today he bought them from scalpers – without stating so outright.

“I bought them for a ‘special price,’” Cee said today. “But I don’t know whether there was an early sale of the tickets [before the public] or not. The way I got them is unfair, though.”

Big drama erupted Friday among frustrated Maroon 5 fans who couldn’t buy tickets when former Miss Universe Morakot “Aimee” Kittisara posted a photo of 25 tickets all tagged for her celeb friends, despite Thai Ticket Major only selling up to six tickets and ticket outlets selling out within moments.

Sharp comments from netizens prompted Cee to post a 10-minute rant telling the public it was none of their business how celebs get hooked-up with their perks.

That went over about as well as you’d expect, leading Cee to go into damage control and talking to the media today about the tickets.

Cee refused to discuss Aimee, who the public understood to be the one who bought all 25 tickets for her friends, including James Jirayuth, Amy Klinpratoom and Ice Apitsada.

“I don’t know if Aimee has a team to help click for tickets online or not.” Cee said. “And I don’t know if her tickets are all seated together, but my five tickets are next to each other.”

Seems like he could have called her, but then again, she already said they were all seated together. And Thai Ticket Major sells only a maximum of six tickets.

Fans were upset with the celebrities and accused them of abusing their connections to get ahold of the tickets, while many who waited hours at ticket outlets went home empty-handed. Complaints from fans won a response from Maroon 5 James Valentine on Twitter saying the band would look into the matter.

Promoter BEC-Tero responded to inquiries by saying it had no comment on the story. However when a second Maroon 5 night was added, the promoter assured fans it would set aside seats for those waiting to buy them in person when they went on sale yesterday.

After all the bullying from a public unhappy with some getting special treatment, Cee declared he and his four friends wouldn’t go to the concert in September.
