Police hauled in the usual suspects from the ladyboy community of Phuket’s Patong Beach yesterday for a dressing down today after one was arrested for stealing a wallet from an Indian tourist.

Montri Srijuntra from Nakorn Sri Thammarat was arrested in front of the Soi Paradise complex around 1:30am yesterday after tourist Amit Mahendra Shah filed a report and accused her of stealing his wallet.

Soon after, a search of Montri by police recovered his black wallet and the THB5,190 therein.

The incident was enough for Patong police superintendent Col. Chaiwat Uykam to give the hard word to his officers and have them round up the usual suspects and remind them of the law.

After the pageant of the allegedly light-fingered crew, Montri was charged with theft in the nighttime.
