Thammasat student crowned Miss Universe Thailand

A Lampang beauty-slash-social studies student from Thammasat University was crowned this year’s Miss Universe Thailand on Saturday night.

Beside its famous pottery, Lampang province can now brag about Aniporn “Nat” Chaloemburanawong, 21, who was named the fairest one of all at the Miss Universe Thailand pageant at Royal Paragon Hall on Saturday night.

Nat is a fourth-year star student in the Faculty of Social Administration at Thammasat University. She won the beauty battle against 250 contestants with her 176 centimeters and 32-25-35 figure.

Second place went to Chavika “Yim” Watrsang (left) while Anchalika “Tammy” Na Phattalung (right) still won third place despite her tepid performance during the question round.

Footage of Tammy giving some of the dumbest answers in the history of Thai beauty pageants went viral yesterday for the LULZ. It didn’t help that she had to answer a stupid question after judges asked her how she would urge people to save water during the drought.

“There are many ways to encourage people to save water (nam). As I’m standing here in the Miss Universe Thailand competition, I’d like to be the spokesperson for the campaign. Like… don’t litter in the river. That will help save water. And the most important thing is your generosity (nam jai). The more you give, the more you get back.”
