Several roads to close Sunday for ‘Bike for Mom’ rehearsal

Several routes in the Paya Thai, Dusit and Din Daeng areas will shut down starting at noon Sunday for 40,000 cyclists to practice their pedaling for the “Bike for Mom” cycling event to celebrate Mother’s Day.

Starting from Dusit Palace, the cyclists will ride along Sri Ayuthaya Road, passing the Phaya Thai intersection and Victory Monument before heading down Vibhavadi Road all the way to Kasetsart University. They’ll cut through the Bang Khen campus before cycling out on Paholyothin Road to end their journey at the army’s Infantry Dept. 11. Then they’ll do a U-turn and head back the same way.

Residents are advised to avoid traveling near the cycling routes, especially in the inner city where additional feeder roads will be closed.

The traffic will shut down starts at noon on Sunday and will remain closed until the rehearsal is finished.

“Bike for Mom” will be held Aug. 16.
