Myanmar to go visa-free for Thais Aug. 11

Starting Aug. 11, Thai passport holders will no longer need a visa when flying into Myanmar.

Thailand and Myanmar signed an agreement yesterday to eliminate the need for visas for their citizens when entering via airports. The visa waiver allows up to a 14-day stay.

Both countries believe the agreement will grow bonds between them and facilitate their citizens.

An agreement to exempt border crossings is expected to be made next year, The Nation reported.
