Prachathip Musikapong, the 31-year-old guitarist for popular band Sqweez Animal, fell to his death from a condominium in Thong Lor on Wednesday night in what police and family members believe to be a suicide.
He fell from the ninth floor and his body was found on a fourth-floor balcony just before midnight.
Prachathip Musikapong was the son of Red Shirt leader Veerakan Musikapon.
Mr Veerakan said he believed his son jumped to his death because a suicide note was found that described problems regarding his girlfriend.
Officers also found empty beer cans and a chair next to the wall of his room’s balcony.
Bangkok police chief Sriwara Rangsipramnakul said police considered the death as a suicide as relatives confirmed the handwriting on the note was Prachathip’s, reported the Bangkok Post.
