System failure: Nok Air computer crash leads to long lines at Don Mueang Airport

A Nok Air computer crash delayed flights and left crowds of passengers angry at Don Mueang Airport in Bangkok early this morning.

The malfunction delayed all flights from 6am to 8am, according to Thai PBS. Lines of passengers built up at check-in counters from 4am and grew so long after the crash that they clogged foot traffic within the airport.

For their part, Nok Air seemed to handle the situation well.

Nok Air CEO Patee Darasin tweeted an apology at 8am and by 8:30am he tweeted that the system had been restored.

The Nok Air official account also tweeted this apology later in the day.

Patee said he was considering offering compensation to those whose flights were delayed by the problem.
