Vice principal charged for publicly smacking student who called out shady ‘SMS fee’ (VIDEO)

A vice principal of a school in Nakhon Ratchasima province is facing a charge of assault after a video of him smacking a student president circulated online.

Following a viral video of him causing a scene in front of the entire school on Friday, Aisoonpiyathorn Juthatham, Vice Principal of Soeng Sang School, was summoned by police yesterday and is at risk of losing his post after the student decided to file a police report for the head-smacking that followed their heated argument.

In the video posted Friday, the Mathayom-five student president, whose identity is withheld, is speaking in front of a crowd of students and encouraging them to sign a petition to evict the school board for collecting the THB200 “SMS fee.” The fee would enable the school to text news and information to the guardians.

As the students were cheering, Vice Principal Aisoonpiyathorn stepped in and started dropping serious verbal abuse on the student president before and smacking him on the head.

“Can I see your dick? Are you a man or a woman?” the vice principal said in the video. “You know Muay Thai? You wanna go?”

“Why do we have to use violence?” The student replied.

Altogether the funds collected from students for the “SMS fee” have totaled THB100,000, despite being deemed questionable by the students. The school has decided to cancel the initiatve and give students a refund.

Principal Samak Waiyakoontod said a committee has been appointed to investigate the incident and the vice principal will be transferred to work at the Secondary Educational Office in the area.

If convicted, the vice principal could face up to one-month jail term and THB10,000 fine, Post Today and Daily News reported.
