A 50-year-old woman was arrested at an apartment in Phuket’s Kathu district Wednesday after she was found with 4.5 kilograms of kratom leaves.
The arrest of Ternjit Srinak came after police learned from undercover officers that she had been selling kratom leaves to local teenagers. The undercover cops also said she was about to come into a huge load of kratom leaves Wednesday night, so the police paid her a casual visit and arrested her.
“We searched the room and discovered 57 bags of fresh kratom leaves on the floor,” Maj Rithichai said.
Ternjit told police, “I have bought kratom from a 20-year-old man three times and he delivered them to my room. I bought 5 kilos from him recently and paid THB1,500 per kilogram.”
Ternjit was taken to Thung Thong Police Station where she was charged with illegal possession of a Category 5 drug.
