Djokovic faces Nadal in Bangkok on Oct 2

Tennis superstars Novak Djokovic and Rafael Nadal will play in a special exhibition tennis match at Hua Mark Indoor stadium on Oct 2.

The match was announced at a press conference held at the Grand Hyatt Erawan by Mr Suwat Lipatawallop, president of the Lawn Tennis Association of Thailand, and Mr Supachai Chearavanont, vice-chairman of the Charoen Pokephand group and CEO of True Corporation, reported Thai PBS English.

The budget for the match and related activities is an estimated THB150 million which will include THB84 million in appearance money for the two players.

Djokovic last came to Thailand in 2008 when he lost the final of the ATP Thailand Open to Jo Wilfried Tsonga, while Nadal lost in the semifinals of the same tournament in 2010.

Tickets for the match are on sale now and priced from THB1,000 to 5,000.
