iPhone 6s launched with wallpapers from Thai photographer

As Apple unveiled the long-awaited iPhone 6s and some exciting upgrades in San Francisco last night, the set of images chosen to be the new iPhones’ official wallpapers are from a Thai photographer.

The Siamese fighting fish photographs from Visarute Angkatavanich were shown to the world through the high-resolution screen of the iPhone 6s and iPhone 6s Plus at the Apple Event last night.

Visarute is a professional photographer who is well-known for his fighting fish photographs. His work has been featured in online and printed media in several countries, Manager reported.

“Don’t just pick up your camera and point at something without understanding its culture and history. That way, you would never take a meaningful picture,” Visarute previously said in an interview with Manager.

“Shoot what you know and understand or always do your research. For example, if I accept a job to take photos of food, I have to know the history of the food I will shoot and how they are cooked and served.”

Meanwhile, along with the introduction of the new rose gold color, the new iPhones come with extra features such as 3D touch, which senses pressure to enable more menus for each application to appear.

There’s also a mega upgrade of their camera from 8 to 12 mega pixels which enables the phones to shoot 4K videos. That’s up to four times the resolution of 1080p HD video.

The iPhone 6s also takes worthy selfies with the new 5-megapixel FaceTime HD camera.

The prices announced for the US buyers are USD649 – 849 for the iPhone 6s and USD749 – 999 for the iPhone 6s Plus.

The phones will be launched on Sept. 25, but as expected, Thailand will have to wait for a few weeks more.
