BREAKING: Mercedes madman ‘Moo Ham’ finally going to jail

“Moo Ham,” son of a high-profile businessman is finally going to jail eight years after he assaulted a bus driver before plowing his Mercedes into a crowd of people at a bus stop, killing one woman in 2007.

The Supreme Court this morning revoked his two-year suspended sentence and sent 33-year-old Kanpitak Patchimsawas or “Moo Ham” to two years and one month in prison for attempted murder, murder, and assault.

On July 4, 2007, Kanpitak, then 25 years old, was reportedly involved in a road accident with a bus driven by Sataporn Arunsiri. After the accident, Kanpitak hit the bus driver on the forehead with a stone before plowing his car into a crowd of people at a bus stop near Sukhumvit Soi 26, killing one woman named Saichon Laungsang and injuring seven others.

In 2013, the Appeals Court sentenced him to serve three years in prison but commuted it to two years and one month stating that he could not control himself due to “mental illness.”

Today the Supreme Court said despite the medical report that Kanpitak was mentally sick and had decision making problems, the report also showed that before committing the serious offences, he had been addicted to drugs since he was 17 years old.

The court reasoned that because his father still allowed him to drive, his mental illness was not severe enough to be used as a reason to commute his sentence.

The Supreme Court said he must serve the sentence immediately.

Moo Ham has been sent to Klong Prem Central Prison in Bangkok, Thai PBS and Daily News reported.

Kanpitak Patchimsawas is a son of former Miss Thailand Sawinee Pakaranang and real estate magnate Kananek, who was busted with 1.07 grams of crystal meth earlier this year.
