Gamer shoots himself after challenged by cop dad

A 21-year-old son of a police officer used his father’s gun to shoot himself at their home in Pattaya Saturday night after he was challenged by his father to shoot him or give up playing games.

Tossawat Boonrod, 21, shot a 9mm bullet into his left ear in front of his father at their home, which is also a grocery store, and died later at hospital following their argument about his game addiction.

The father, Anupap Boonrod, said he came home to find his son playing video games, so he scolded him and asked why he didn’t help with the family’s shop.

When Tossawat ignored him, a furious Anupap put his gun on the table, lifted his shirt up and challenged his son to either shoot him or stop playing games. Unexpectedly, the 21-year-old picked up the gun and shot himself instead.

After that, the mother, who was sitting on the other side of the room, took the gun and threw it out, fearing her husband would shoot himself.

CCTV footage of the incident spread online on Facebook page Youlike last night.
